Logistics integration technology provider Chain.io has landed an $11 million round of funding from venture capital investors to expand its range of connections to widely-used supply chain technology platforms.
Chain.io develops pre-built “adaptors” that tie together systems that shippers, forwarders, freight brokers, and carriers use to exchange information with one another. Those system also perform core logistics processes like procurement, transportation management, and visibility.
The company said in a statement Wednesday it will also use the funding for a geographic expansion across North America, Europe, and Asia. Chain.io’s customers include 10 of the 15 largest global forwarders.
